Sausage Pulav is a one pot meal. This recipe does not require much of preparation. It is extremely easy and simple with just a few ingredients. Do try this and let me know how it was.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Basmati Rice

  • 1 packet Sausages, you can take chicken sausages or pork sausages of your choice. I used Chicken Sausages

  • 2 potatoes, diced to small cubes

  • 1 big Onion

  • 4 Green Chillies, slit

  • 4 pods of Garlic, minced

  • few Mint Leaves

  • bunch of Coriander Leaves

  • 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder

  • half teaspoon Turmeric

  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala

  • Dry spices- 2 bay leaves, 4 cloves, 4 green cardamom, 1 inch cinnamon sticks, 1 teaspoon shahi jeera, 1 start anise

  • salt to taste

Method:

  1. Boil the rice half done along with half of dry spices.

  2. Strain the rice and keep aside

  3. Fry the potatoes and sausages separately and keep aside

  4. In the same pan, take some oil and fry the remaining dry spices

  5. Add onions and fry till they turn golden brown

  6. Add garlic and saute for 1 minute

  7. Add the powder masalas and stir for 30 secs

  8. Add green chilies, mint leaves and coriander leaves and layer the rice potato's and sausages

  9. steam it on very low flame for 10-15 minutes covered

  10. You can also mix the rice with masala instead of layering

COOKING TIPS

#1

Remember, y'all, it’s all about the prep. Take away the stress by doing the prep the night or day before. You'll look like a star.

#2

Always crack an egg on a flat surface, never the edge of a bowl.

#3

Don't throw out those last drips of jam in the jar; shake up a fruity vinaigrette instead.
